Today's Stampin' Up! card idea is this flower pot card with Flowering Flourishes! Have you heard of "scrap cards", those cards you can make from left over scraps of card stock and papers? Well, this is a "scrap ribbon card"! Do you find you have leftover bits of fun ribbons and don't know what to do with them? Here is one fun idea……make flower pots!
I used the largest stamp from the Flowering Flourishes stamp set (p. 121 #126365w $24.95, #126367c $17.95) as the base image of this card. Then I added bits of leftover Stampin' Up! ribbons (p. 172 – 173) to make the flower pot. For flowers, I just added some Stampin' Up! Designer Buttons (p. 176 &8.95) You can easily change up this card with whatever bits of ribbon and buttons you have.
I even have a stamping video tutorial for you, although I think the picture itself gives you all the information you need. The video is only two minutes long so you can see what a quick card this is to make!
One of my favorite book titles is String Too Short to be Saved by Donald Hall. This is a book about his reflections on the past when he visits his parents' house. His parents, being from the Depression era, had saved many things. One of the things he found was a box labeled "string too short to be saved"…..but it was saved anyway!
I think that is a story most of us as crafters can relate too……and most of us didn't live through the Depression! We love to take bits and pieces of leftover scraps or other intriguing things and create something new.
I hope you enjoyed this scrap ribbon flower pot card with Flowering Flourishes! I will be posting more ideas about "scrap cards" soon so stay tuned……..and be sure to sign up in the opt in box for some upcoming exclusive projects!
