Sometimes when you are creating a hand stamped card, you want it to be very special. This Easel Card uses a folding technique that lets you mail the card flat. After the card is opened, you can lift the top part and it stands up. I took the idea from a card made by Lori Puccio that I received in a swap. Detailed instructions are given in the video below.
Wouldn't this creative card design make a great Christmas photo card or a Baby Announcement? I'm sure you can think of all kinds of occasions to use this.
This is how the card looks flat and ready to mail.
In using the Big Shot Scallop Circle Bigz Die, you will fold your card stock in half and lay the fold line just below four scallops so that the two scallop pieces will be connected and will open like any other card. On the inside piece, score a line right down the middle and fold that part over. Then you take one more piece of card stock and run it through the Scallop Circle Bigz Die. Attach the top half of that circle to the folded over half of the inside of the card. That will give you the basic card structure.
Stamp the words, punch them out, and place dimensionals underneath before placing on the card. The dimensionals will keep the front of the card in a standing position.
