This card has a folk art look to it. I love how the ornaments look hanging from the Bakers Twine on the tree. There is a stamping video tutorial below where you can watch me make this card, but its really very simple.
The hardest part is cutting the tree! I say that because its a "free form" tree which means you just cut it and you don't need to have the sides matching. As adults, we seem to always want patterns so every piece is exactly the same as every other…..but now, really, have you ever seen two trees that were perfectly alike, or even one tree that was perfectly symmetrical? This is an opportunity to think and act like a child and just go for it and enjoy the tree you create!
Merry Minis has three different ornaments in the set and I used all three, each in a different color. The Merry Minis Punch Pack makes this card so easy because you just get to punch each one out. The star is also from this set and has a coordinating punch in the Punch Pack.
When I wrapped the Bakers Twine around the tree, I secured in on the back with dimensionals in several places. This will keep it from sliding up the tree. The last step is to hand the ornaments on the twine. Your tree is all decorated! Wouldn't it be great if your real Christmas tree could be decorated this quickly?
Merry Minis would be great for gift tags too! Kids love to use the punches so get them stamping and punching. They will easily make a pile of ornaments and then they can enjoy decorating gift tags for everyone! Wouldn't this be a fun family night project?
