When Tim and I were moving my 90 year old mom a few months ago, we came across an unopened box of 64 crayons. Mom quickly told me to take them for our 3 year old grandson, and then she paused … and asked if I thought it would be weird if she kept them because she had always loved to color.
She had no idea about the current Adult Coloring Craze, and I was quick to fill her in! I told her she was right on trend!
We can take this idea right into our card making as well!
The Lighthearted Leaves stamp set is perfect for coloring!
This is how I stamped one sheet of 8 1/2″ x 11″ of Whisper White Card Stock, colored it in, and then used that one sheet to make 10 cards:
After stamping and coloring, I cut the paper into 10 pieces like this.
Each piece was layered onto a card like this.
Here are all 10!

Lighthearted Leaves Colored as a One Sheet Wonder!
… and, by the way, for my mom’s 91st birthday, we gave her coloring books, colored pencils, and set of Soft Subtle Stampin’ Write Markers. She absolutely loves her new hobby!

I think the diverse range of adult coloring book topics and designs has a lot to do with the current popularity of adult coloring. I enjoy coloring and sometimes create my own coloring pages which I share on Pinterest with others in the adult coloring community. The way interest continues to grow within this activity makes me believe this is not just a trend.

Happy Birthday to your mom! Please tell us the colors that you used on these cards, (i.e. is it Tangelo Twist or Pumpkin Pie?)

I totally agree with you! Thank you so much for sharing – hasn’t Pinterest changed our lives?

Thanks for asking, Angela. Its actually Watermelon Wonder – I used the new 5 In Colors – so it must be my photography skills, or lack thereof – since it certainly looks like Tangelo Twist. So, I guess, anything goes!
