The original projects in this kit are these sweet house containers that hold candy or any other small gifts.
Our grandson Hank and his cousin Elodie helped come up with these variations.
How to Make an Easel Card
Easel cards are one of our favorite fun fold cards and these houses are a perfect fit.
Layer the house onto a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Designer Series Paper and then onto a 4″ x 5-1/5″ piece of coordinating cardstock.
Attach this just to the bottom fold of the card front. It will lay flat like this and then pop up into an easel.
The Lasting Label Punch is used for the pop up. (Don’t have that punch? Try other punches or cut a small rectangle out of the cardstock to use.)Score this in half and fold. Add adhesive just to one half of this piece and add to the card front.
How to Make a Package Topper
I was working on this idea as a regular card and it was Elodie who suggested putting it over a bag to hide the gift. This way you can open the card, then open the gift.
Start with one the house pieces. The back side looks like this.
Cut it apart along these lines.
Arrange the two roofs so they touch. Score the middle cut out piece in half and use to attach the two house pieces.
Add a piece of white cardstock to the inside for the message.
Add the extra roof piece to the card front with dimensionals, decorate and put the card over the bag. How quick and easy is that?
