Hey crafters! Ready to make your holiday card-making a breeze? Join me as we dive into this quick double one-sheet wonder and make 9 Christmas cards in minutes!
Of course, this technique isn’t just for Christmas!
Choose two 12″ x 12″ coordinating pieces of Designer Series Paper, layer them and cut in half to create four 6″ x 12″ sheets.
We’ll use two of these sheets to make 9 cards. It’s similar to using one 12″ x 12″ sheet, but this way we have more options for mixing and matching patterns
Here’s the template:
Notice that it’s divided into three sections, so we’ll begin by cutting those sections first.
Let’s start with each section and focus on the cuts that go all the way through.
Now let’s take a look at the basic cards you can create using this template. All card bases are 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.
The left section makes 3 cards.
The middle section makes 4 cards.
Score your card base at 1-1/4″ and 4-1/4″ and fold as shown. Basic White inserts are 4″ x 5-1/4″.
One DSP strip goes on the Basic White insert and the other strip goes on the front flap.
And the right-most section makes two cards.
After making the basic cards, here are some ideas on how to embellish them.
The easiest is to use punches and a sentiment (these cards used the Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper, the Greetings of the Season stamp set and the Heartfelt Hexagon and Labeled with Love Punches)
You can also fussy cut images from the paper itself and use dies.
Look how the fussy cut images make the cards more stunning!
