Shaker cards are interactive cards featuring a transparent window filled with small, loose embellishments that shake and move when the card is tilted or shaken.
Shaker cards are not only perfect for kids but are also perfect for any occasion. They add an element of fun and surprise to your cards, making them a creative and interactive way to share your sentiments.
On today’s Create with Us Live show, we are joined by Holly Sutton Batla. She’s my VA and also a demonstrator from my team. Holly and I work closely on social media, product shares and all the ways we help you with crafting. And she also has a Stampin Up business called Handcrafted Blessings where she shares card projects and inspiration. Be sure to check out her February Card Club which will feature 4 different shaker card designs. You can follow her on Facebook or YouTube for more fun ideas!
This is the Shaker Card that she made. Isn’t it stunning?
How to Make Shaker Cards
Here are the supplies you need:
- Score the Moody Mauve base at 4 ¼” and fold to create the card base.
- Use a circle die on the 3 ¾” x 5” Bubble Bath mat to create the opening. Then emboss using the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder.
- Adhere the window sheet behind the opening in the Bubble Bath cardstock.
- Line the opening with Foam Adhesive Strips. Then sprinkle some Champagne Iridescent Gems on the window sheet. Remove the backings from the foam strips and adhere the DSP square.
- Adhere the shaker piece to the card front.
- Stamp the sentiment on the label and adhere to the card front.
- Stamp the hummingbird and die cut. Then adhere to the card front.
