These simple masking techniques can add a lot of variety to your cardmaking. The cards today use the Bottled Happiness Bundle, the Sending Smiles Bundle, the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Cup of Tea Bundle.
All of the 2022-2024 In Colors are used too – Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky, and Orchid Oasis! Aren’t they gorgeous?
The Cup of Tea Bundle is perfect for all occasions for those tea drinking friends! (I drink tea all day long, starting with black tea in the morning, moving to green tea for the afternoon and herbal tea for the evening.)
This card is a front flap card, one of the easiest fun folds ever! You will find the directions on making, these plus lot of sample cards, here!
Back to the masking technique! Use the Masking Paper or Sticky Notes to create the masks. Stamp your image on the sticky note and cute two or three out at the same time so you will have extras. Store them right in the stamp case.
When cutting, cut right inside the outline of the stamp.
The video below will walk you through these steps.
In a similar way, with the Bottled Happiness card, stamp the images in the foreground first. Mask those and keep adding more bottles. There is a Vintage Bottle Punch (which is part of the bundle) that can be used for the masks for this card.
Outline images also work. These flowers and sentiment are from the Happiness Abounds Bundle.
Use masking to omit parts of an image or sentiment as well. In this Sending Smiles card, the original sentiment “smiles across the miles” was changed to just “across the miles” this way. Put a sticky note over the part of the stamp you don’t want to use, place the stamp into the ink pad and then …. remember to remove the sticky note before stamping on your card!
