One Sheet Wonders are a great way to make a variety of cards quickly! The eleven quick, but beautiful cards, are all made with the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper. (These will be available on November 1 – but you can get them now if you buy the starter kit! Email me – ktstamp@usinternet.com – to find out more about that.
What makes a Double One Sheet Wonder different from a regular One Sheet Wonder?
Instead of using one 12″ x 12″ piece of Designer Series Paper, we are using two sheets of 6″ x 12″ paper from the same set of Designer Series Paper. So – we will end up using the same amount of paper as one sheet of 12″ x 12″, but we will have four different designs to work with!
This give more variety to the appearance of our cards.
These are the supplies you will need.
Double One Sheet Wonder Template
Lay one 6″ x 12″ piece on top of the other and cut your paper into three sections like this.
This is the template for cutting all of the pieces, but be sure to keep reading to see the easiest way to cut these.
Take just one of the three sections at a time. We will start with the 4-1/2″ x 6″ section. Cut your paper like this.
You will have 12 of these 1-1/2″ x 3″ pieces. Mix and match them in sets of three. Each set of three will be attached to a 5″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
Add these to the card bases and embellish.
Next, take the middle section. You will have 8 strips and that will make 4 cards.
Arrange these pieces in sets of two.
Score your card front @ 1-1/4″ from the right edge and fold on the score line. Add adhesive to keep the fold in place.
Add one strip over the center of the folded part and the other on the right side of the card front.
If you are using colored card bases (instead of white or vanilla) like these, add a 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of white on the card inside to write on.
Now for the third section.
You will have four of the larger pieces. Arrange these these to make two cards like this.
Notice the narrow strips of Designer Series Paper across the middle of these two cards? Those are the two 4″ x 3/4″ strips left over from the middle section.
So – every singe bit of this paper is being used – no waste card design! How cool is that?
The four pieces left will make this eleventh card.
So there you have it – eleven quick and easy, but still beautiful cards including four different designs!
This Double One Sheet Wonder is actually the very same template I shared two years ago! Isn’t it fun how we can use ideas over and over again and our cards will still look different? To see the original Double One Sheet Wonder, go here.
Hi Karen & Tim,
Another great double one sheet wonder, I love how your cards turned out,
Have a great week, Cheers Anna.
Thank you so much!
Hi, I love your use of papers. I wanted to ask what is the size of your card bases?
I almost always use half a sheet of cardstock for my card bases so either 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored @ 4-1/4 or 4-1/4 x 11 scored @ 5-1/2
