Our son John lives in one of 33 DCI group homes. Each summer they all get together for a big picnic at Como Park in St Paul. The highlight of the picnic is the guest appearance by Elvis. This particular Elvis is absolutely amazing and has a wonderful rapport with all the residents. He patiently sings to each person, gives out hugs, calls them by name (using their name tags, of course) and puts a neck band around them that matches the one he is wearing. This is John's moment with Elvis.
If you close your eyes, you would think it was Elvis. He is that good.
There were about 400 people there including residents, families, and staff.
We think so much of the staff that work at John's house. Alisha, his primary care advocate, takes him shopping. He was dressed very stylishly with a Rolling Stones T-shirt under an open plaid shirt.

Very fun to see a photo of you and John (and he's looking so happy!). Have some very fond memories of working with you Karen, and enjoying my time with John. I have wondered about you two over the years. It was fun to hear from you.
