This Blog Hop is very personal to me – I am a breast cancer survivor of three years this month!
It was during this time that I experienced first hand what a difference a card makes! It was just amazing to realize how many people cared … and mail delivery was the highlight of my day.
So … this card is for all of you who have taken – or will take – the time to make and send a card to someone dealing with breast cancer right now! You are an angel to that person. (“Angels watching over me, my lord”)
Paper Piecing Stamping Technique
I stamped the angel from the Wonder of Christmas stamp set on Shimmery White Card Stock and cut it out. I then stamped it again on Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper, cutting out the gown and slippers and layering them on the first angel.
To change the words “Joy to the World” on the banner to “for you” (from the Banners For You stamp set), I first inked the stamp in Black Memento, then covered the words with tiny pieces of Post-it notes, and stamped an empty banner. I added the new words, cut out the banner and added that to the angel.
For the base of the card, I used Shimmery White Card Stock with a 1″ strip of Silver Foil and a 3/4″ strip of coordinating paper from Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper.

Later this month I am hosting a breast cancer research fundraiser – involving making cards, of course. If you want to hear more about that, be sure to sign up for my mailing list.
