Use a fun combination of two Stampin Up! stamp sets to write Sassy Salutations with a Fine Feathers quill pen! I'm sure back in the day when everyone used quill pens, the letter styling was much more proper, but I love the look of Sassy Salutations and its name says it all!
I thought immediately of quill pens when I saw the Fine Feathers stamp set (p. 79 #126515w $16.95, #126517c $12.95), and I knew I wanted to pair it with my favorite new word set, Sassy Salutations (p. 143 #126705w $23.95, #126707c $17.95). I stamped the words first and then carefully stamped the feather so its tip would connect with the start of the first word.
I then colored the feather with a variety of Stampin' Write Markers including Cajun Craze, which is the color card stock used on this card. After that, I painted over the feather with Champaign Mist Shimmer Paint (p. 158, #116806 $5.95) and set that aside to dry.
I used the same shimmer paint on the piece of Cajun Craze card stock. You will notice I didn't go all the way to the edge because I wanted to give it a two tone look. What do you think of the look?
This stamping video tutorial will guide you through this process:
I have a blog just for Fine Line Stampers (my down line group) and each month I host a challenge that all members can do, whether they are building a stamping business or just buying for themselves. This month's challenge was to post an original card to the members blog using a new set from the catalog. (You will be seeing some of those cards on this blog in future posts).
Three names are drawn each month from those who completed the challenge and they receive a Stamp' Up! product and a card using that product. This is the card they are getting this month along with the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint! This is a fun idea you could do too as a gift for a stamping friend!
Email me if you would like more information about joining my team! And then, for you, I will write Sassy Salutations with a Fine Feathers quill pen!
