Stampin Up Card Ideas for a Man with a Truck?

Does this fit anyone you know? Do you need some Stampin Up card ideas for a man with a truck? …or a woman with a truck? Here is the stamp set you are looking for: Loads of Love!

The basic Loads of Love stamp set contains the Pickup Truck, a tree, a pile of hearts, flowers and words including "loads of love", "thought you could use a little pickup!", and more. It works for Christmas and Valentines as well as other occasions.

This card was actually stitched on a sewing machine…..that means I didn't make it! I just like to use "faux stitching", a technique where you punch holes with the Stampin Up Mat Pack and the Paper Piercing Tool and then connect the holes with Stampin Up's famous Signo White Gel Pen. It really looks just like stitching!

This stamp set has two companion sets: Loads of Love Accessories, a set of twelve stamps including the gifts used in the cards above, puppies, pumpkins, furniture, eggs and people as well as more word phrases such as "just moved!", "friends for the long haul", and "driving by with a birthday 'hi!'". Now we have added Thanksgiving and Easter to the list of holidays this set fits!

A second companion set, Loads of Fun, is my favorite because it contains a camper! We have camped for many years and I plan to use that stamp for a long time to make cards for camping friends. This set also includes a motorcycle, trailer, snowmobile, and more.

This is really a quick and easy card making idea! This wheel is called Tailgating and the other is Time For A Tree.

Stampin Up Card Ideas with Cats and Dogs!

For those animal lovers among us, here are some Stampin Up card ideas with cats and dogs!

As we continue on with this series on retiring stamp sets: first, the cat:

This beautiful card by Gina Cardera uses the C is for Cat stamp set. Notice the cat is multicolored. (Just like real life!) I think she used this technique to create that look: Using a baby wipe, place a couple drops of ink from the ink refill bottles. Use two or three colors. The colors will spread and parts of them will blend into the other colors. Then you use this baby wipe as your stamp pad, and see what a pretty look you get!

The card uses the D is for Dog stamp set. One of the great things about these two sets is that they can used as sympathy cards for those who have lost their pets. The C is for Cat stamp set says "so sorry for the loss of your little friend" and the D is for Dog stamp set says "so sorry for the loss of your best friend". It is so thoughtful to remember those family and friends who are going through these losses.

One of my customers works at a Vet clinic and she makes hand made cards to send to all of the families of their patients who die. That's a great way to stand out from the crowd and provide that personal touch!

And isn't this card by Mary Haugen simply adorable? This is from the Friends Fur-ever stamp set. I particularly like one of the phrases in this stamp set: "sorry life's ruff right now".

Stampin Up Card Ideas Awash with Flowers

Today we are looking at Stampin Up Card Ideas Awash with Flowers. Awash with Flowers is another stamp set on the Stampin Up Retired Stamps List!  Awash with Flowers is a two-step stamp set and contains eighteen stamps! That gives you lots of variety to work with.

This card by Sherri Retton uses lots of those stamps from the set:

You can see that, although this set is a two-step, the pieces don't line up exactly. That gives it more a "water washed" look. Perhaps thats why the set is called Awash with Flowers! (I really have no idea.) This is a bright spring or summer looking card with plenty of bright colors and added glitter. Notice how the edges are roughed up and the corner of the white piece is actually torn off, while the next layer is bent.

This next card by Karen Angel has a more tradition feel:

This look used the Stampin Up Big Shot for both the Top Note white piece and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder for the red accent piece. For this, the basic card is folded as usual, and then the front of the card is folded in half again and tucked under.

And now…to step really outside of the box we have this card by Elise Pelletier:

How it that for a pretty dress for a little girl? The girl is from the All in the Family stamp set, another on the retired list! Don't you love seeing an idea like this and wonder how anyone thought of it?

The punches holes accents around the middle layer are made with the Stampin Up Mat Pack and the Paper Piercing Tool. You can see how easy it is to line up the holes using those.

Stampin Up Card Ideas for Men

Are you ever at a loss when it comes to making masculine cards? Here are some Stampin Up Card Ideas for Men using the Autumn Days stamp set. Its hard for me to see this one retire because it has so many possibilities!

A pheasant for the hunter, or the outdoorsman, is perfect for birthdays or retirement cards! This card uses the Top Note Bigz Die for the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. The designer series paper is also run through the Big Shot with the Top Note. That one is cut in half, so it makes the bottom of two cards. Isn't that a pretty way of layering? Then entire cut out piece is then sponged. The pheasant is colored with stampin write markers and the wheat and berries pull out some of the colors from the designer series papers.

And now…..for an entirely different look:

Isn't that a pretty wreath made with the berry branch stamp from the Autumn Days stamp set? This card is done in Christmas colors, but it would also look great in fall colors! I like to draw a circle very lightly on my card stock with pencil. That helps me build the wreath in a circle shape, rather than the wavy oval my first try produced.

And for one more idea:

I love this stamp with the pine cones. Again, it would be perfect for birthdays and any other occasion. Here it is used as a sympathy card. The designer series paper and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder finish the card. This stamp set also contains a small, solid leaf stamp which wasn't used on any of the samples shown.

There are only three of the many cards I have using this set. Can you see why I love it? You will too!

Stampin Up Card Ideas for Friends Never Fade!

This is the first of many retiring Stampin Up stamp sets that I will be highlighting. Today I have Stampin Up card ideas for Friends Never Fade! This is an inexpensive set of four flower stamps that can be used for a wide variety of occasions. Here is is a quick and easy card made with this set:

Hot pink (as in Melon Mambo) and black make a great color combination. On this card, the Friends Never Fade stamp set (p. 107  #118750w $17.95 #120618c $13.95) is combined with the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder (p. 219 $116824 $7.95)

This is another card, also from Friends Never Fade, with an entirely different look:

When I know the maker of a card, I always give credit to that person. Most of the cards I will sharing that use these discontinued stamp sets were received in swaps and I don't know who made them. If you know, please let me know and I will gladly add their names in these posts!

This card uses the Friends Never Fade stamp set again with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (p. 219 #120175  $7.95) Notice how the edges of the embossed paper is sponged with Soft Suede ink. Using just the Soft Suede, this monochromatic card has an elegant look which is enhanced with the Antique Brad (p. 198 #117273 $5.95) in the middle of the main flower. The Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die (p. 223  #115950 $21.95) makes an interesting bottom layer for this card.

The Stampin Up Big Shot was used in making both of these cards! I don't think I could stamp anymore without the Big Shot. I use it every time! It adds texture and interest to anything you are working on. So much about card making is in the details. Do you own the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine yet? Ask me more about it.

Stampin Up Punch Art: A Baby Boy Card!

Today is another card using Stampin Up Punch Art: A Baby Boy Card! This card uses the same Owl Punch that the baby girl card on yesterday's blog post used, but what a different look we get this time!

This little romper is so cute! One of my Stampin Up video tutorials below will walk you through the entire process.

The romper is made just with the vest part of the Stampin' Up! Owl Punch (p.212 118074 $16.95). I used the striped paper from the Twitterpated Designer Papers. Just cut a smal "v" to make the legs. I love the way the stripes work for the shoulder straps and, for the pocket, its fun to turn the stripes the other direction. Mini Brads (p. 199 #122941 $5.50) finish off the romper and Bakers Twine (Occasions Mini p. 35 $2.95) creates the clothesline. Add some clouds from the Send Me Soaring Stamp Set and you have a picture of a perfect summer day!

To finish it off, I just layered it on a Pool Party circle made with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch (p. 212 #120906 $16.95) which is layered on an Island Indigo 3" x 3" card. The Stampin' Up! mini envelopes (p. 182 #107309 $7.50 for 40) are perfect for these cards. Wouldn't you love to give a baby gift and have this be the attached gift card?

Make a few of these baby boy cards and a few of the baby girl cards from yesterday and you will be prepared for baby gifts!

These would be great for making baby shower invitations as well, or as a set of thank you cards for a new mom. Of course, with either of these ideas, you would use a full size card so they can travel by mail.

Stampin Up Punch Art: A Baby Girl Card!

I am always talking about how much I love the Stampin' Up! punches because you can do so many things with them. Today's title is Stampin Up Punch Art: A Baby Girl Card! Isn't this an adorable little girl's outfit made from the Owl Punch?

This is a 3 x 3 card to be used as a little gift card, but it could just as easily be adapted to a full sized card. To see more of my card making video tutorials, you can sign up for my YouTube channel.

This looks a little different from an owl, doesn't it? The main body on the Stampin' Up! Owl Builder Punch (p. 213  #118074 $16.95) is used for both the print part of the outfit and for the layer underneath. The video shows a simple way of cutting out the leg openings with the 3/4" circle punch (p. 212 #119873 $10.95). Next, trim the feet off the under layer as well.

The neckline bib is made from the vest part of the owl punch. Just trim that to fit the outfit and use the 1/2" circle punch (p. 212  #119869 $5.95) to create the neckline. The mini brads (p. 199 #122941 $5.50) are perfect for the trim and a stampin write marker makes the lines around the leg openings. I used the tiny print paper from the Attic Boutique Designer Papers along with Poppy Parade and Pool Party Card Stock.

The lace trim on the arm holes is made with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (p. 212 #118402 $11402). The video shows how to do this.

To finish the card, I just layered this cute little outfit on a scallop circle (2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch p. 210  #118874 $16.95) and a larger circle (2 1/2" Circle Punch p. 212  #120906 $16.95)

The Stampin' Up! Mini Envelopes (p. 182 #107309 $7.50 for 40) are the perfect size to put these gift cards in.

Stampin’ Up! Big Shot Dies: Elegant Bird Goes Shabby Chic!

On today's card I had fun using one of the fun Stampin' Up! Big Shot Dies: Elegant Bird Goes Shabby Chic!

Here is one of my card making video tutorials which will walk you step by step through the process I used. Some written directions follow below.

As you can see, this is a great "scrap card". All those bits and pieces of designer papers seem to accumulate fast! I used the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini p. 13 #125406 $10.95) for my Elegant Bird, but you could use entirely random bits of paper.

I used a punch to punch out the squares and then I used the Cutter Kit (p.208  #106958  $16.95) to rough up the edges. I glued them randomly on the page, overlapping the edges and put it through with the Elegant Bird Die (Occasions Mini p. 10  #125593 $21.95).

To make my bird even more distressed, I ripped a few edges and made sure some of the edges were flipped up at the ends. To dress her up for the occasion, I made a shawl for her from the Victoria Crochet Trim (p. 194 #118481 $6.95). I cut down the middle of the lace and added a couple of layers as you can see in the picture. The eyes are the Large Pearl Basic Jewels (Occasions Mini p. 26 #125577 $4.95). I added the safety pins and the vintage looking brad that closes her shawl with items from the Vintage Trinkets (p. 197  #118764 $5.95)

To finish the card, I layered it on a background of Island Indigo Card Stock and paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Pack. Doesn't she look ready to go to town?

This is just one of many looks I can imagine with this die. What would you do with it? I love my Stampin' Up! Big Shot Dies: Elegant Bird Goes Shabby Chic!……or simply elegant…….or country!
