Look at this cute gift bag made with one sheet of Designer Series Paper!
I asked Tim to make some cookies for me so I could put them in the bag for display – so really, I made a gift for me!!! Other suggestions for things to put in this from my Facebook Live viewers included essential oils and handmade soaps!
One of the things I like about this bag is that is lies flat until you are ready to use it, so you can make up several to keep on hand.
Plus, the person you give it to can put something different in it and re-gift it to someone else … so it really can be the gift that keeps on giving!
On the Facebook Live at the bottom of this post, I demonstrate how to make this, plus several other ideas using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers – all in honor of the “buy three, get one free” deal Stampin’ Up! has going on right now.
But first ….
Tutorial on Making an Easy Gift Bag!
Start with 12″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Designer Series Paper.
I like to think of this pattern in terms of “2 inches”.
- With the 8 1/2″ on the top of the Simply Scored, score at 2″ in on each side. (So, score at 2″ and 6 1/2″)

- Turn your paper so the 12″ in along the top. The base of the box will be 2″ wide … so, since 6″ would mark the middle, score at 1″ on each side. (So, score at 5″ and 7″)

- Next, you will mark 2″ in from the 5″ and 2″ out from the 7″ (So, make a small mark at 3″ and 9″). You will score from those points as see in the picture below.

Fold on all lines and add Tear & Tape along the four sides as shown in this photo.
Assemble.
I don’t know if it was totally confusing to talk about the “2 inches” or if it was helpful. For me, I like to think about the box takes shape and every measurement in this has to do with 2 inches.
