This fractured card, or faux shutter card as it is sometimes called, looks complicated but it really easy if you do it the way we are showing here. This truck from the Trucking Along Bundle is positioned so it could be traveling the road on this One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.
Or just let the paper do all the work like this card using the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper.
This card, using the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper, has layered flower made with the Inked & Tiled Punch Pack.
How cute are these Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper animals?
Change up your card by rearranging the top square.
How to Make a Fractured Card the Easy Way
Attach a 2″ square (die cut or regular cut) at an angle like this on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ inch piece of the same color cardstock.
Cut four 3/4″ x 5″ pieces of cardstock in a coordinating color. Add adhesive. (Using a silicone mat with the glue will keep your work area clean when using such narrow pieces.)
Add these layers around the small square like this
Trim the edges and attach to the base card. Add a 1-3/4″ square of Basic White card stock to the center and decorate!
How easy is that?
Make a stepped up card by changing from a square shape to another geometric shape. These cards use the Courage & Faith Stamp Set with the Countryside Corners Dies.
The process is the same as with the square except that you will need six strips and you cut one edge of each at an angle.
