Slide and lock cards are easy to make – but they don’t look like it. You will love making these over and over again.
See how the card is in one piece – but when you slide off the front flap, the inside looks like this.
The video below will show how the card is assembled.
Below the video is the list of supplies and instructions on how to make the slider.
This card uses the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper.
There are coordinating dies that cut these butterflies right out of this paper!
Next, the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper.
Notice how most of these cards are only using the papers – a little fussy cutting and you are done, unless you want to add a sentiment stamp.
Time for an ice cream party with friends —- we haven’t been able to do that for a long time!
The Snail Mail Designer Series Paper is just adorable!
So many different cute things to cut out of this paper!
For elegance, use the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper.
Yes, those flowers are fussy cut!
A beautiful black and white is always classy – this uses the True Love Designer Series Paper.
Its so easy to add another fussy cut image to the inside of these cards.
The Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper is another elegant choice, with several different flowers to cut out.
Are you thinking of some papers you own that you would like to try this with?
The Dragonfly Designer Series Paper is used on this card with just a little bumblebee accent.
… and a couple more inside.
This card is made with the Well Suited Designer Series Paper — which is mostly plaids and stripes, a very masculine type paper pack. I love that this floral print fits right in there as well. I added a punched out dragonfly from the Dragonfly Designer Series Paper!
This is the first Slide and Lock card I made – I give detailed instructions for hits here:
Easy Slide and Lock Fun Fold Cards
The supplies you will need are a piece of cardstock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ with two 5-1/4″ x 1-7/8″ strips of Designer Series Paper.
Score the large piece of cardstock at 2-1/8″ on each side and fold to meet in the middle. (This fold makes a traditional gate fold card.)
For the slider, cut four 3″ squares of white cardstock.
Fold two of the white squares in half and attach to the one of the other squares spine to spine as shown here.
Finish with a 3-1/4″ square layer or a 3-1/2″ layer … or both!
Slide this slider over your card front, making sure the edges of the gate fold card fit right inside of this.
Finished -Now….. we would love to see what you make with this card designer. Come share yours with us over in the Back Porch Stampers!

Thank you very much for sharing this card. I have never made this fold card before and really appreciate the help in teaching us how to make this one. I have been trying to make cards for a few years now but most have been very simple ones. Not like this one. Thank you again. Looking forward to learning more from you.
