One of the things I love about my job (if you can call it that!) is that there isn’t any stress – its just fun with paper and ink! Recently there was a day though….
I was staying with my mom and couldn’t come home until two hours before my Stamp-a-Stack class, but I had some card ideas in my head and I’m a last minute person anyway…so fine. (Alas, no Pinterest because of no internet connection at her place)
But…. it took longer to help her dress and get ready for the day, so I only made it home 1 hour early….
And… two guests had emailed me to say they were coming an hour early, but of course I didn’t have email either….
So… we arrived at my home together.
FINE! They can help me plan and cut.
However…. I couldn’t find the items I needed for the cards I had planned in my head so we were back to square one!
And…. we watch our 2 year old grandson on Wednesdays. Tim has him until my class is over and then I take him….
But…Tim had a brand new manager who scheduled him to work late
So… my grandson came and wanted to play ball outside like usual….. and I had to keep in in the room with us!
So….I’m trying desperately to come up with card ideas while keeping my grandson in the room and conversing with my guests…and, of course, this would be the day two brand new guests came!

I made it through the class, asked the new people to please come back and give me another chance, and provided, hopefully, some cheap entertainment for all!
The next day, I received this card in the mail from Doreen Knudson, one of the class attendees! Inside, she thanked me and hoped that I had made it through the rest of the day without going crazy! (Truly, “one who finds a faithful friend finds a treasure”)
That card made my day!
Now, whenever I remember how stressed I was that day, I also remember what a difference a good friend and a card make!
Will you share a time when a card made a difference to you?
