If you know Karen, you know she doesn't like to spend any "extravagant" money, so its hard to bring her flowers! Here are my four short stories:
(Obviously, that isn't an SU! image!!!!)
1. Imagine the horror on Karen's face when I brought her a dozen beautiful yellow roses! That changed to laughter and appreciation when I told them I picked them out the garbage at the airport! (I like to imagine it was a jilted lover!)
2. The owner of the flower shop next door to my work called me over one day to give me a gorgeous, exotic bouquet left over from a special order. I proudly took it home and showed it to the women at her stamping class. One of them had to get up and leave immediately to go the emergency room because she was allergic to that kind of flower!
3. One nice summer day, when Karen and I took Hank to the Richfield Sculpture Garden by us, there was a sign for FREE COFFEE at the Seniors' Residence. Figuring they would love to see a baby, I took Hank and left Karen sitting on a bench reading. Was she surprised when she saw me come back with a bunch of flowers! The Free Coffee Occasion was really to sell flowers for their fund raiser, so, of course, I couldn't leave without buying!
4. My best flower-giving occasions? Whenever she travels without me, I have a red rose in a vase waiting for her at home on the bathtub ledge. Now…..that one gets me extra credit every time!
