The Road to Happiness Birthday Card!

Looking for a fun birthday card to give someone who loves sports cars or traveling? This Road to Happiness stamp set is a perfect fit.

This set has five other word choices and plenty of stamps for things to fit in the car including a bride and groom, surf board, guitar, and hearts so this is a great set for making all occasions greeting cards!

Before I share the products used…..

this is the Freshly Made Sketches 94 that was my inspiration! Look how simple that is.

I immediately saw a road in this sketch so I took the Road to Happiness stamp set. I stamped the car and the words and cut both of them out.The road is made with the Designer Series Paper Pack.

Instead of using the stamp included in that set (a bunch of small gifts), I decided to super-size my gift! I used the 1″ Square Punch with the Perfect Polka Dots Designer Series Paper and added the tie with the 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon.

I added a cloud using the Cupcake Builder Punch and it was done! If you don’t mind doing a bit of cutting for the car, this is really a quick and easy card to make!

This card makes me think of road trips. I love road trips and it seems so few of us take those anymore in this day of air travel. So……road trip, anyone?

Queen for a Day Humorous Handmade Card

Sometimes its fun to take a tradition card like this Queen for a Day card…….

and turn it into a humorous card like this:

Queen for a Day….at least my panty hose tells me so!

My husband Tim didn't get the humor so I guess its really a female thing. I think we all get it, whether it fits us or not!

There is a stamping video tutorial below if you like watching a card being made, and here are the written instructions along with supplies needed:

1. The base of card is Melon Mambo with the front run through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

2. Basic Black and Whisper White Card Stock are run through the Big Shot with different sizes of the Labels Collection Framelits.

3. The words "queen for a day" from the You Rule stamp set are stamped in black, and on a different piece of Whisper White, the crown from You Rule is stamped in Melon Mambo and cut out.

4. A bit of Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon is tucked behind the Basic Black piece.

5. The crown is decorated with Basic Rhinestone Jewels and Large Rhinestone Jewels and attached to the card.

6. The extra words are done on the computer and added to the card, either on the front like this picture, or on the inside of the card, which is where I usually place those added words.

If you like this idea, I encourage you to look for funny sayings that fit someone you want to send a card to and then figure out which stamp set will go along with it! The other day on my 44 Funny Valentines Sayings post, I made a list of ideas for Valentines card. Take this further and do your own for any occasion. You don't need to purchase a card when you want to include a funny saying!

Henry Says: This is a Great Handmade Birthday Card Idea!

Looking for a cute stamp set to make your birthday cards with?

Henry Says fits that description!

Henry Says stamp set

As you can see, Henry Says a lot of different things: "It's Your Birthday", "You're Unforgettable", It's a Party", "Congratulations", "hooray, hooray", and "Merry Christmas". He also has a lot of accessories, including a party hat, a Santa hat, another hat – see the card sample below – , hearts, banners, Christmas ornaments, and some little birdie friends. No wonder he can say a lot of things…..and so can you when you use this stamp set.

On this card, I just added the hat and another layer:

Paper Piecing is the technique used on this card.

"Paper piecing" is a technique where you stamp directly on some designer series paper and then cut out the image. (I used the Sunshine & Sparkles Designer Series Paper, one of my favorites!)
